How to make a Leek pie!

Hey G33ks,

So my girlfriend’s parents introduced me to Leek pie a while ago.
I really like it, and so I decided to make one myself.
Yesterday, I made it with my mum, and it looked like this:

I posted the pictures to my Facebook and Twitter, and got some questions how I made it and what the recipe is.
Well my dear friends, don’t worry, even the recipe is open-source 😛
Unfortunately, I did not make any pictures on the process of making it, so you’ll have to do with a text version.
The English version might be translated a bit janky, but then again, English is not my first language.
Like with all recipes, I recommend reading it once first before actually making it.
This way, it’s easier to make it as you should have memorized the recipe a little.

    - 250 grams of Bacon bits
    - 3 Leeks
    - 200 grams of Crème fraiche
    - 45 grams of Puff Pastry pieces (about 10 pieces)
    - 2 big eggs
    - Sunflower oil
    - Curry powder
    - Salt
    - Pepper

Kitchen Materials:
    - 1 Frying pan
    - 1 Fork or Whisk
    - 2 bowls (one small, and one medium)
    - 1 Tablespoon
    - 1 Springform
    - 1 silicone brush
    - hotplate
    - Oven

Preparing the Leek Pie:
1. Cut the leek into rings of about half a centimetre thick.
2. Separate the egg whites from the egg yolks. put the egg yolks in the smaller bowl, and the egg whites in the bigger bowl.
3. Add the Crème Fraiche to the egg whites.
4. Add a pinch of salt and pepper.
5. Add about 3 or 4 tablespoons of Curry Powder.
6. Mix the egg white mixture into a nice consistent mass.
7. Grease the Springform and coat it with the Puff Pastry pieces
8. Preheat the oven to 190 Degrees Celsius
9. Bake the Bacon bits for about 5 minutes until done. Make sure they are still soft, not crispy!
10. Add the leek and bake this for a few minutes with the Bacon bits. Make sure the bacon bits are still soft, not crispy!
11. Take the pan off the heat and add the egg mixture.
12. Pour it all into the Springform.
13. Cover it all up with Puff Patry until it's all closed up.
14. brush the egg yolk over the pie
15. Put the pie in the oven. 45 Minutes on 190 Degrees Celsius
16. Wait and Enjoy!

It may all look complicated at first, but once you get to it, you’ll see that it’s quite simple 🙂
My mum and I managed to do it in about 10 minutes, start to oven.
According to the mother of my girlfriend, it was an ideal student dinner.
It’s fairly cheap, and quite a bit, so you can do 2 days with it. (or 1 day if you’re like me…)

Be careful when eating it tho, it’s REALLY hot on the inside.

I hope you guys are gonna enjoy it as much as I do.
If so, don’t forget to share this recipe (maybe give a link to this page? 🙂 )!
For now, this it it.
Feel free to leave any recipe suggestions and improvements in the comments below!
